CD Professional Coaching Program

Purpose of CDPC Professional Coaching

The International Coaching Federation (ICF) defines coaching as partnering in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.

Professional coaching focuses on setting goals, creating outcomes and managing personal change. The CDPC program allows each participant CD to be matched with the most suitable coach from a pre-approved panel, who will then work with them on an individual basis as they develop a personal plan for a successful/ improved civilian career / life. In better preparing CDs for a civilian career, we reduce the probability of CD’s requiring financial assistance from NCDT in the future.

Eligibility

Serving CDs are eligible to participate once they identify th at transitioning away from RAN is likely. However to ensure that the right services are provided to CDs at the right time, serving CDs who are considering applying should discuss their situation with their unit Commander (CO), who can advise on all options, including CDPC Professional Coaching where this is the most appropriate course of action. This is different to the ADF transition services support processes which are both mandatory and only available once a serving member formally commences transition. Participation in the CDPC program may result in the CD deciding that the best career path for them is to remain in RAN, and if that is the case, then the program is still a success.”
