The scholarship covers professional development at any level: short courses, industry certificates, trade qualifications, undergraduate degrees, and Master’s programmes. If the qualification helps you take your next step into civilian work or business, it is in scope. We back the qualification that fits your direction, not the other way round.

Who funds the scholarship?
The NCDT Scholarship is funded by the NCDT Transition and Resilience Fund, registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC). The fund receives no government funding and operates entirely through donations and sponsorship.
How much is available?
Up to $5,000 per applicant, per year. The amount awarded is assessed on individual circumstances and the costs associated with your course or training programme.
What types of study are eligible?
There is no restriction on field of study. Past recipients have funded university degrees, TAFE qualifications, professional trade courses, and specialist vocational training across a wide range of sectors.
When does the application window open?
Applications open once per year at the start of the financial year and remain open for approximately six weeks. The 2026 date has not yet been confirmed. Register your interest above to be notified as soon as the window opens.
Can I apply if I am still serving?
The scholarship is open to ex-serving Royal Australian Navy Clearance Divers.
Can dependants apply?
Applications from dependants of ex-serving Clearance Divers are considered. Contact secretary@ncdt.org.au for guidance before the application window opens.
