Support for Clearance Divers and Their Families
Whether you need immediate financial assistance or longer-term support through our programs, NCDT is here. You do not need to be in crisis to reach out.
Support is available through the NCDT Relief Fund and the NCDT Transition and Resilience Fund.
Who this support is for
Support from NCDT is available to serving and ex-serving Royal Australian Navy Clearance Divers, and their immediate family members and dependants.
You do not need to be at breaking point to ask. Whether you are facing unexpected hardship, planning a transition, or simply unsure where to turn, this is the right place to start.
Two ways we help
NCDT operates two complementary funds. Knowing which one fits your situation helps us respond quickly and connect you with the right support.
NCDT Relief Fund
Immediate financial relief
The Relief Fund provides immediate financial assistance for Clearance Divers and their dependants facing hardship. It exists for situations where Defence, DVA and other support schemes fall short, and you need help now.
If you are in financial difficulty and need assistance urgently, requesting support is the right next step.
NCDT Transition & Resilience Fund
Programs preventing hardship
The Transition and Resilience Fund supports Clearance Divers through professional coaching, education scholarships, and the new CD-to-CD Mentoring Program launching in 2026.
If you are looking for longer-term support, explore what our programs offer.
What happens after you ask
Reaching out is the first step. Here is what to expect after you submit a support request.
-
You complete a short, secure request form. We only ask for what we need to understand your situation. You do not need to share everything upfront.
-
Our CD Liaison receives your request and contacts you within 2 business days.
-
We have a confidential conversation to understand what you need and which support is most appropriate.
-
If eligible, support is arranged directly. Where NCDT is not the right fit, we will point you to services that can help.
If you would prefer to speak with someone before completing the form, contact our CD Liaison directly at cdliaison@ncdt.org.au.
Your request is handled with care. Only the people who need to be involved in assessing your situation will see your information. NCDT does not share your personal details with Defence or DVA without your consent. The CD Liaison role is specifically separate from the trustees to protect your privacy.
